This is where it started.

Tasked with creating material for Typographic 56 magazine, I embraced my monochromatic 8-bit childhood and created a free pixel font for release with the publication.

My first font, its production went OK and I finished with weeks to spare – but I felt I should use that time somehow. My walls were covered in Fuse posters at the time, but I didn’t have the skills to carry that off, so I set about created a game.

Embracing the pixelation of the ZX Spectrum but aiming for better legibility, this font also includes icons from the game and some graphical building blocks inspired by the ZX81 – my first computer.

The original font was released in ‘Postscript’ and ‘TT/Suitcase’ filetypes – both now defunct, but if you’re still running Mac OS 8 or an old PC, I’ve got you covered.
